Hyped by many as the party of the summer, the Otis brothers and Brenton Webster, of Bonza Bash, had quite a bit to live up to for AWP 2013. The location changed - from Matthews Winery in Woodinville, to Bell Harbor on the Seattle Waterfront, allowing for easier access and a later curfew for the growing mass of party goers - but the crowd remained the same… albeit, substantially larger.

As Lauren Hale, freelance event planner, put it, “[There was] endless people watching… Thousands of guests in their best white outfits danced the night away on the Bell Harbor pier”.

Tips for next year:
-
Get your tickets early – this event will definitely sell out.
-
Arrive early (or at least on time) – The line is unforgiving of your tardiness!
-
Wear ALL white - don’t be that guy (or girl?) in blue jeans.
-
Careful with your red wine on the dance floor - Rumor has it, Oxyclean will not be a party favor next year!

DJ Oresso likes long nights on the water... and music, I guess.

"
Pop bottles... all of them. Matthews encourages it!
Very cool party, [AWP crew]. It's clear that a lot of great work went into it! I'm glad I got to enjoy it, thank you!" - Lysander Johnson, via Facebook
All white everything... it's kind of a rule.
Our expectations were exceeded. We heard some chatter about long lines at the door
Jeff Otis and the AWP team apparently don't intend on providing an experience that's less than perfect. Jeff Otis and the AWP team are looking forward to taking it to the next level in 2014. “Definitely things we can do better," Jeff says. "Live and learn. Make it better next year.” YPOS hears you Jeff... but we think drunk dancing and wine stains are typically a sign of a good time! Small price to pay, friends.

but the experience the AWP team provided inside made it well worth the wait. Even the predictable miscues - involving a combo of red wine, white clothing and the slight reduction in coordination that accompanies drinking while on a dance floor - became part of the fun. Hey, we're not judging those of you who showed up in white and left in a little more "red" than you intended. Plus you've got a whole year to practice the art of the dance while sipping vino!

The spacious indoor/outdoor venue easily handled the 3,000+ attendees. We showed up to the event with a pretty good idea of what to expect: thousands of people dressed in white, party music (thanks DJ Oresso and DJ Lifeguard) and Matthews wine. LOTS of Matthews wine.
So… What is better than than 3,000+ of the hottest people in Seattle in their sexiest white-hot outfits, endless pours of wine with two of city’s best DJs spinning tunes on the Seattle waterfront? As far as parties go… not much.
"Definitely the best summer party in Seattle,” as Lauren put it. We'd challenge any party goer who disagrees to put in the work it would take to make something better. YPOS congratulates the AWP team for living up to the hype. We’ll see you, in your whitest whites, at AWP 2014!
Oh... and in case you missed it (for shame), this is about what 3,000+ people dressed in white looks like:
